A call by the Arab League, sponsored by the Egyptian and Saudi Arabian Ministers of Information, for Arab broadcasters to avoid any content which might offend either the leaders of Arab countries or the relgious sensitivities of devout Muslims, will be seen in the West and by Al-Jazeera, the Qatar financed newspaper, as a frontal assault on the freedom of the media.
