Banque Saudi Fransi has stated it is "totally immune to the sub-prime crisis", and attributed its failure to meet its fourth quarter targets to drops in local stock markets. Although Middle East banks have suggested that they will not be greatly affected by the sub-prime market in the U.S., in fact these banks probably do not know for certain the extent of their exposure.
