05Dec2005 King Abdullah Sends Message To Sultan Qaboos

Muscat, 5 December, 2005

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has sent a message to Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed of Oman, dealing with aspects of cooperation between the two countries, particularly ways of developing the Peninsula Shield Force within the GCC joint action.

Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Military Affairs, handed over the message to Sultan Qaboos during an audience at his palace in Bait Albarakah.

Prince Khalid also conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz to Sultan Qaboos.

On his part, Sultan Qaboos welcomed Prince Khalid and also sent his greetings to the Monarch and the Crown Prince.

During the audience, cordial talks were exchanged and a number of issues of mutual concern were discussed.

The meeting was attended by a number of senior protocol officials, Saudi Charge d'Affaires in Muscat, Husham bin Abdulwahab Zara'a and senior embassy staff members.

Prince Khalid arrived in Muscat earlier today. He was received by a number of officials.
