02Dec2005 King Abdullah calls For Rain-seeking Prayer

Riyadh, 2 December, 2005

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has called for the performance of Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayers all over the Kingdom on Monday 5 December, 2005 corresponding to 3 Zul-Qaeda, 1426 H, as rain season has been delayed, a statement issued by the Royal court said here today.

The statement urged Muslims in the Kingdom to take part in the prayers, usually performed early morning during such drought according to the instructions of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) .
