02Dec2005 IIRA Takes Care Of 31,000 Orphans

Jeddah, 2 December, 2005

The Secretary General of the International Islamic Relief Agency (IIRA), Dr. Adnan bin Khalil Basha said Friday that the Agency is taking care of 28,000 orphans and has established 14 orphanages in a number of Asian countries including Azerbaijan, Jordan, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Syria, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, India and Yemen.

In addition, the IIRA is also looking after 3,000 orphans in Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina and Kosova.

Basha also disclosed that these orphanages had been provided with all necessary social, educational and health services and facilities; pointing out to the IIRA's efforts in looking after these orphans in the most proper manner.
