17Nov2005 Crown Prince Sultan Visits Military College In Cairo

Cairo, 17 November, 2005

Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, currently on an official visit to Egypt, today paid a visit to the Military College in Cairo.

He was received at the venue by the Minister of Defense and Military Production, Marshal Mohammed Hussein Tantawi; Chief of Staff of Armed Forces, General Sami Anan; Director of the college, Major General Harb Mohammed Filaifel; and Saudi Military Attaché in Cairo, Brig. General Abdulrahman Aldhahiri.

Guard of honor, national anthems of Saudi Arabia and Egypt, military parades, aerobatics, and sports games were performed before the Crown Prince.

Crown Prince Sultan and the accompanying delegation were briefed on the contents of the college during a tour of its departments and facilities.

A tea party was then held in his honor after a photo-taking session. Memorial gifts were exchanged.

In written remarks, Crown Prince Sultan paid tribute to the commanders of the Egyptian armed forces, wishing the two countries every success under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak of Egypt.

In response to a question on whether he has discussed the Syrian file during talks with President Mubarak in Cairo yesterday, Crown Prince Sultan told reporters that such main issues are discussed by King Abdullah and President Mubarak.

Crown Prince Sultan was accompanied by princes, Saudi Ambassador to Egypt, Hisham Mohyeddin Nazer and a number of officials.
