12Nov2005 Ban On Import of All Birds From Saudi Arabia’s Neighbouring Countries

Jeddah, 12 November, 2005

A Royal order has been issued to the customs administration and all entry points, preventing entry of all kinds of birds to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This comes in line with the recommendation of the Agriculture Ministry regarding the bird flu.

Dr Fahd Balghunaim, the Minister of Agriculture, said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, that this development comes in the light of the latest developments pertaining to bird flu in countries near the Kingdom.
