King Fahd Chair Center for Islamic Studies at the Oriental and African Studies at the University of London held its fifth international conference on "The studies of the Holy Quran: text, explanations and interpretations to different languages".
A large number of university professors from all over the world, including Arab and Islamic countries, Europe, USA and Australia, attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, Professor Mohammed Abdulahleem, Supervisor of the Chair, highlighted the role of the Chair in teaching different Islamic subjects to Muslims and non-Muslims .
He said the three-day conference will discuss a number of issues in 37 papers pertaining to Islamic studies from research, scientific and academic points of view.
He lauded the role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the service of Islam and Muslims, particularly in terms of research and Islamic studies, noting that the Chair, which is situated at one of the most prominent British and European universities, receives the care and support of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to accomplish its job.
Saudi professors taking part in the event were: Dr. Abdulrahman Ibrahim Almatroodi of King Saud University (Riyadh); Dr. Adel bin Ali Ashiddi of King Saud University; Dr. Abdullah Abdulkareem of King Saud University; Dr. Abdulhakeem Almatroodi of King Fahd London Chair; and Dr. Hanadi Mohammed Buhairy of Ummul Qura University (Makkah).
