08Nov2005 Prince Ahmad Meets Pakistani Interior Minister

Islamabad, 8 November, 2005

Pakistan's Interior Minister, Aftab Ahmed Sherpao met here today with Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Minister of Interior and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting was attended by the Saudi ambassador to Pakistan, Ali Assiri.

Prince Ahmad conveyed the condolences of the government of Saudi Arabia and the Saudi people to the Pakistani people on the victims of the earthquake that recently hit Pakistan.

He stressed strong and historical relations binding the two countries and their peoples and continued cooperation in all fields.

Prince Ahmad affirmed the continuation of relief assistance to the affected people in Pakistan.

On his part, the Pakistani Minister thanked the Kingdom for its great relief assistance to Pakistan.

Later, Prince Ahmad attended a luncheon held in his honor by the Pakistani Interior Minister.

Prince Ahmad, accompanied by the Pakistani Minister, also visited here today the Department of Civil Status.

He also visited King Faisal Mosque, which was built in 1986.

Later, Prince Ahmad and his accompanying delegation left Pakistan.

At the Islamabad Airport, they were seen off by the Pakistani Interior Minister, the Saudi Ambassador and other officials.
