The security spokesman of the Ministry of the Interior has denied press reports which said that some repentant elements involved in planning terrorist acts were released, adding that only those who had gone through full legal procedures were released.
The security spokesman pointed out that some of those released, who had previously been influenced by deviated ideas, were interviewed by the Sharia committees across all regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and that they were convinced that their previous ideas had been wrong.
"They were then released after their situation was explained to their families who then pledged to look after them," the security spokesman noted.
