23Oct2005 Crown Prince Sultan Inaugurates College Project

Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, inaugurated here on Saturday evening the project for a polytechnic college and laid the foundation stone for a project of a higher technological institute for girls, implemented by the General Organization for Technical Education and Vocational

Training.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ali Al-Ghufeis, the Governor of the General Organization for Technical Education and Vocational Training, said the state had supported the Organization by about SR9 billion to implement its expansion projects in various regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He noted that the polytechnic college project will be implemented on an area of about 356,048 square meters.

The project includes the building of the college, a mosque, training halls, workshops, training laboratories and other utilities.

As regards the project of the higher technological institute for girls, Dr Al-Ghufeis said it will be implemented on an area of about 120,000 square meters.

The project includes the administration building, training halls, a library, a restaurant, training laboratories and other utilities.

The first project will be implemented at a total cost of SR74.8 million, while the second project will be implemented at a total cost of SR84 million.

The function was attended by a number of princes, Ulema (Muslim scholars), and senior officials.
