Protocol For Red Sea And Gulf Of Aden Conservation Signed

The Protocol for the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden (PERSGA) was signed here today at the headquarters of the Secretariat-General of the Regional Organization for Conservation of the Environment of Red Sea and Gulf of Aden in Jeddah.

The Secretary-General of the Regional Organization for Conservation of the Environment of Red Sea and Aden Gulf, Dr. Ziad Hamzah Ghararah stated that the protocol signed by the organization's member states (Jordan, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Egypt, Yemen and Somalia) is considered a step forward in protecting the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden from pollution.

The Regional Organization for Conservation of the Environment of Red Sea and Gulf of Aden is a regional governmental organization founded under the umbrella of the Arab League. The members of the organization are the Arab countries overlooking the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. These countries play a vital role in taking care of marine environment.
