05Aug2005 King Abdullah Receives Dignitaries

Riyadh, 5th August, 2005

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, in the presence of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, received here today the Governor General of Australia, Michael Jeffery and the accompanying delegation, and the Australian ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi, Arabia Ian Biggs.

He also received here today Lakhder Ibrahimi, the Special envoy of the UN's Secretary General.

The King received here today the US Vice-President Dick Cheney, accompanied by Former US President George Bush, Former US State Secretary Colin Powell and US Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, James Oberwetter.

Meanwhile, the King received here today King Juan Carlos of Spain and the accompanying delegation.

They offered condolences on the death of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz.

The audience was attended by a number of princes and senior officials.
