12Jul2005 Saudi Arabia Participates In 10th Anniversary Of Srebrenica Massacre

Riyadh, 12 July 2005

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated in the 10th anniversary of Srebrenica and Jiba massacre in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was observed yesterday at an east Bosnian town.

The Saudi delegation was headed by Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Saleh Al Al-Sheikh.

A number of foreign officials attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

President Sulejman Tihic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sheikh Saleh and the Muslims participants performed the funeral prayer (for the remains of the identified victims of the massacre who were laid to rest yesterday at the memorial graveyard in Potocari near Srebrenica).

Sheikh Saleh also met with President Tihic, Deputy Speaker of the Republika Srpska National Assembly, Sefik Hafizovic, and the Chairman of Bosnia's Ulema, Dr. Mustafa Tisirhic.

During the meetings, they discussed the bilateral cooperation in the Islamic fields.

The Bosnian officials thanked the Kingdom for supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina in humanitarian and relief fields.
