22Jun2005 Saudi Security Forces Name the Two Dead Terrorists

Saudi security forces killed two people who attacked a police officer in Makkah on 18 June after chasing them. They also arrested a number of suspects, an official source at the Ministry of Interior said.

In a statement, the official identified the two attackers who were killed after resisting arrest, as Kamal Sami Ahmed Fodeh and Mansour Mustafa Atiq Al-Thibiti, both Saudis.

The official added that the security forces seized from the two attackers weapons and ammunition, including the gun used in the crime, a computer, a video camera containing previous shots of the scene, various documents, electronic equipment, telephones and a sum of money.

The source noted that Fodeh (45) traveled four times to Afghanistan starting from 1407H. He was also arrested by police in the Eastern Region in 1412H after forming a five-member gang. The gang carried out five armed buglaries of private homes. As for Al-Thibiti (23), he stole a car in 1424H, the source pointed out.
