Prince Ahmed Bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Interior Minister has said that terrorism is on its way to elimination because the Saudi Muslim community is fully aware of its dangerous goals.
After an educational event, he told reporters here yesterday that the Saudi people reject this extraordinary phenomenon.
As regards claims that three British prisoners had been tortured in Saudi jails, Prince Ahmed said that he was not informed about this, but it is known to everyone that these people had been sentenced according to the deserved rulings and that they had been pardoned. "Moreover, they had lawyers and embassies and if there had been anything, their countries would have protested."
"The government has been following up the affairs of Saudi prisoners in Guantanamo (Cuba) and hopes that these cases will be over soon," the Deputy Interior Minister said.
Prince Ahmed pointed to the presence of security cooperation with Syria.
Answering a question that some Saudis are going to Iraq, he said that there may be something like this, but in fact, not all of them intend to make problems since some of them have social relations and relatives there.
