12May2005 More Saudi Assistance Reaches Tsunami Victims

Aceh, Indonesia, 12 May 2005

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is still continuing its efforts to aid tsunami victims in Aceh. Yesterday it facilitated distribution of a new tranche of tents and foodstuffs.

The Saudi Red Crescent and Indonesian Red Cross have signed an agreement for establishing 5 health centers.

Director of Saudi Red Crescent in Indonesia Abdullah Al-Amer said they agreed on a psychological and employment support program for 500 families involving an expenditure of 250,000 US dollars.

Al-Amer disclosed that the two humanitarian societies also decided to provide a mobile clinic costing 800,000 US dollars and to establish Zainulabidin Hospital at an estimated cost of 900,000 US dollars.
