08May2005 New radio station to broadcast for Dammam and surrounding area

The Minister of Culture and Information Iyad bin Amin Madani gave approval for the Riyadh-based Saudi Broadcasting station to start transmission on LFM wave to serve listeners in the city of Dammam and its surroundings, effective May 9, 2005.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering Affairs Eng. Mohammed bin Ahmed Sahili said the station will transmit the Holy Quran Program, General Program and Second Program on LFM wave, at a capacity of ten kilowatts per each program on 90, 90.6 and 94.7 mega Hertz frequencies respectively.
