Prince Turki Al-Faisal, the Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland, has stressed that dialogue remains the sole option to promote a civilization on the basis of peace, tolerance and mutual respect.
In an address at a meeting of leaders of various faiths and development held at the invitation of the President of the World Bank, James Wolfensohon; the former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord George Carey and Patriarch of the Catholic Church in Ireland Wai Ramoid Martin, Prince Turki Al-Faisal said that human development is strictly dependent on the factor of stability.
"The world now needs cooperation and tolerance, not conflicts. There is also a need for replacing the language of conflicts and wars with the workable option of exchanging views and engaging in negotiations," he noted.
He called for finding a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict which threatens the future of the Middle East.
"Terrorism is contravenes all principles of Islam. Moreover, all people are equal in front of the Almighty God," said Prince Turki Al-Faisal.
He affirmed that Muslims respect all religions and prophets, citing the sermon of the General Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 'the Day of Arafah' which was delivered before the largest gathering of Muslim Pilgrims that has been recorded so far.
