The Committee of Appeals and Complaints in Riyadh Region has endorsed the decision of the General Committee of Municipal Councils Election to ban mayors and their deputies from running in the municipal councils election.
The Committee of Appeals and Complaints pointed out that the decision of the General Committee for Election is supported by a regulation stating that mayors and their deputies are security men and that they are banned from assuming any public or private jobs.
