27Jan2005 Saudi pavilion at Cairo book fair praised

The pavilion of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at Cairo International Book Exhibition, currently in progress in the Egyptian capital of Cairo, has won the admiration, appreciation and interest of a number of Egyptian officials and visitors.

The Saudi pavilion, the biggest Arab contribution to the exhibition, displays more than 200 titles and more than 20,000 books and information publications.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Ali Algahtani, Consultant at the Internal Information Department and Supervisor of international book exhibitions of the Ministry, confirmed the keenness of Dr. Fou'ad bin Abdulsalam Al Farsy, the Minister of Culture and Information of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to increase the effectiveness of the participation of his ministry in cultural activities, including Arab and foreign international book exhibitions.

Algahtani also extended thanks to President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak of Egypt for visiting the Saudi pavilion while touring the exhibition's different pavilions following the opening ceremony.
