30Dec2004 Interior Ministry issues detailed statement on recent incidents

The Ministry of Interior issued today a detailed statement on the killing of three wanted militants of the deviating group (following a confrontation with security men at an oil station in Riyadh) and on the wiping out a criminal cell responsible for the two explosions which occurred outside the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior and the building of Emergency Special Forces in Riyadh on Wednesday.

An official source at the Ministry said that security men have been observing suspected movements of militants of the deviating group, noting that the first security operation led to the killing of three militants on Tuesday evening and other seven killed in storming their den, a flat in Taoun suburb, Riyadh at 10.00 p.m. on Wednesday.

The two operations led to the killing of :

1- Sultan Bajad Saadoun Al-Otaibi, Saudi citizen

He had started to say that Muslims are unbelievers and that killing them was permissible. He cooperated with the deviating group by hiding militants and providing them with cars and explosive materials. Security men foiled his attempt to blow up a residential compound, but later he took part in priming the car used in bombing Al-Muhayya compound. He targeted foreigners and security men and participated in a number of attacks. He was wanted by security men and his name had been announced previously.

2- Khalid Ahmed Mohammed bin Sinan, naturalized Saudi

He had been trained in Afghanistan. He had experience in preparing explosives. After his return, he trained his clique in the use of explosives. He took part in firing on guards in Al-Muhayya Compound before the wicked explosion in Ramadan, 1424H. He was close to the chiefs of the deviating group inside and outside the Kingdom. He died from his injuries.

3- Badr Mansour Badr Al-Sbie', Saudi

He had traveled outside the Kingdom and joined the deviating group. He provided houses and rest-houses for his clique. He helped in priming a car targeting a compound, but later the attempt was aborted by security men. He took part in preparing the car used in Al-Muhayya compound by painting the car with colors assigned to the Emergency Special Forces. He participated in several attacks and was assigned as Deputy Chief of the criminal organization.

4- Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Raimi, Yemeni citizen

He had been in Afghanistan. He was known for forgery and was directly linked to chiefs of this wicked thought. He was in contact with the so-called Khalid Ali Al-Hajj who was killed by security men. Later he was linked to the so-called Sultan Bajad. He was coordinator of contacts with militants in the clique.

5- Thamer Khamis Abdulaziz Al-Khamis, Saudi citizen

He was recruited by the deviating group for his experience in using the internet. His card was used for renting web sites. He was provided informational services for the criminal organization.

6- Saud Abdullah Saadan Al-Jadhie', Saudi citizen

He had traveled to Afghanistan, gaining experience in forgery. He took part in priming five cars with explosives, two of them registered in his name. Security men seized four of the cars. Later, he took part in bringing the fifth car to Abdulaziz Al-Miqren. The car was used in bombing the Public Security Building.

7- Mohammed Abdullah Salih Al-Mohsin

He had experience in preparing explosives and was linked with a number of militant members of the criminal organization. He shot at security men on a site.

8- Mohammed Sulaiman Ibrahim Al-Wakeel, Saudi citizen

He had recently joined the criminal organization, hiding a number of militants and meeting their demands.

9- Abdulwahab Adel Abdulwahab Al-Shareedah, Saudi citizen

He cooperated with the criminal organization and was linked with the so-called Sultan Bajad, providing logistics for him.

10- Bandar Abdulrahman Abdullah Al-Dakheel

He was associated with the deviating group through his brother Faisal Al-Dakheel, who had previously been killed by security men. He was known for his experience in using weapons and combining explosive materials. He took part in priming cars with explosives and brought one of them from Qassim to Riyadh. The car was later discovered in the sand. He and other militants fired on a highway security patrol, killing of two security men.

The Ministry of Interior warned that security men will eradicate anyone who tries to destabilize the Kingdom's security, noting that these wicked attacks were aimed at the homeland and its establishments.
