22Dec2004 Heroin smuggler beheaded in Arar

Arar, Saudi Arabia, 22nd December 2004

Qaid bin Kamal bin Mohammed Al-Ziadi, an Iraqi national, was today beheaded in Arar after being convicted of smuggling heroin into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

A statement issued by the Interior Ministry said that the culprit was convicted by the Shariah Court, and the verdict approved by the Court of Cassation and the Supreme Judicial Council.

The statement reiterated the determination of the Saudi Government to ensure law and order and severely to punish criminals.
