The Shoura Council is to recommend an allocation of SR2 billion to develop and improve scientific study and research in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The government will provide 50% of the fund and investment companies will provide the other 50%, Abdullah Al-Shihri, head of the Council’s Scientific Research Committee told the Saudi Gazette.
This is a good step for the Saudi education system, said Dr Abdul Aziz Abdulmalik, an associate of the Earth Science College. The fund will cover various research fields.
Saudi Arabia is promoting the development of sciences and has formed a National Board of Scientific Research Projects.
According to Jeddah Bio-City, some of the research conducted in Saudi Arabia focuses on various bio-technical applications for scientific research, which prepares research on environmental evaluations and develops scientific projects that concern the environment.
