Prince Khaled bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, the Assistant Minister of Defence and Aviation for Military Affairs, who is also Chairman of the Council of Prince Sultan International Water Prize, on Sunday chaired the third meeting of the Prize’s Council.
Participants of the meeting approved the names of prize winners and recommendations submitted by the Prize’s Selection Committee in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, Prince Khaled bin Sultan said that the competitors and prize winners represent all nationalities and religions.
Prince Khaled said that the world faces major problems of water scarcity, drought and water pollution. He noted that the third Arab conference on water was recently convened in Lebanon to review a number of papers pertaining to water problems in the Arab region. He stressed the importance of rationalizing water consumption worldwide.
The winners of the International Water Prize were as follows: Dr Jery Stidnger, from the U.S.; Herman Power, from the U.S.; Dr Hisham Taha Abdullah Al-Dasouki, from Egypt; Dr Hisham Mohammed Al-Toni, from Egypt; and King Abdul Aziz City for Sciences and Technology (KACST).
