14Oct2004 Saudi Arabia launches Iftar program for refugees in Darfur

Riyadh, 14th October 2004

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today launched an Iftar (breaking the fast) program for displaced people and refugees at camps in the civil war stricken Darfur Region of Sudan.

Acting Chairman of the Saudi Red Crescent Society Dr Salih Al-Tuwaijri said that a cargo plane today departed Riyadh, loaded with 60,000 food baskets for poor and needy people in Darfur.
