13Oct2004 Ramadan to commence on Friday

Riyadh, 13th October 2004

The Royal Court announced in a statement today that Friday 15 October is to be the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.

The statement said that the Judiciary Council has not received notice of any sighting of Ramadan’s crescent moon; therefore, Thursday 14 October is 30 Shaaban, the final day of the month.

The Council congratulated Muslims on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.
