A small fire broke out at a school in Makkah today. Twenty-two students sustained minor injuries in the rush to escape the building.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SAP), Director of the Makkah-based Civil Defence Department Colonel Jameel Mohammed Omar said that some students received medical treatment on the scene; others were transferred to a hospital and later discharged.
The fire broke out in an air conditioner due to a short circuit at Umm Salamah Charitable School for Memorization of the Holy Quran.
