26Sep2004 Prince Turki bin Sultan speaks on meeting of Saudi intellectuals

Riyadh, 26th September 2004

Assistant Minister of Culture and Information Prince Turki bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz stressed the importance of the first meeting of Saudi intellectuals, saying that the meeting aims to draft a cultural strategy to realize the aspirations of Saudi intellectuals.

In a press statement following the inaugural session of the meeting on Saturday, Prince Turki bin Sultan said that the three-day meeting will focus on various cultural domains including theatre, poetry, formative arts, the culture of the child, music and folklore. He highlighted the significant role that could be played by the media in implementation of cultural policies.

He expressed his appreciation of patronage of the inaugural session of the meeting by Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz, and said that Minister of Culture and Information Dr Fouad bin Abdul-Salam Al-Farsy had exerted all possible efforts to ensure the success of the meeting.
