23Sep2004 Developments at King Fahd Holy Quran Printing Complex

Secretary General of the Madinah-based King Fahd Holy Quran Complex Dr Mohammed Al-Ofi said that the Complex reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to service of Islam, the Holy Quran and the Sunnah (teachings of the Prophet).

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on the occasion of the Kingdom’s National Day, Dr Al-Ofi noted that 1,500 employees, including Ulema (Muslim scholars), technicians, and administrators work at the Complex. Saudi citizens’ constitute 73% of personnel.

Dr Al-Ofi said that by the end of the year 1425H the Complex will have produced over 193 million copies of the Holy Quran and Prophet’s Sunnah.

The Complex, which is constructed on an area of 250,000 square-metres, includes a mosque, offices, printing press, a training centre, shops, residential units, a clinic, a library and restaurants.

Over two million Muslims have visited the Complex since it opened in 1405H.
