Saudi newspapers today published editorial comments on the Saudi National Day which falls on 23rd September.
The Dammam-based Al-Yawm said that the Kingdom celebrates its National Day amidst significant international political and economic changes. It noted that since the unification the country under the leadership of king Abdul Aziz, the Kingdom has been constantly pursuing a path of development and progress. The newspaper lauded the support extended by citizens to the Kingdom’s fight to combat militants.
The Jeddah-based Al-Bilad said that the 74th celebration of the Kingdom’s National Day reminds us of the great sacrifices made by our grandfathers for unification of the country.
The Riyadh-based Al-Jazirah said that Arabs and Muslims should learn from the great achievements accomplished under the leadership of King Abdul Aziz, including unification of Saudi Arabia.
Abha-based Al-Watan said that the Kingdom represents a fine example of balance between its own deep-rooted values and international values. “Those who advocate westernization of the Kingdom and separation of religious and political spheres are ignorant of the spiritual pillars on which the Kingdom was founded,” the newspaper said.
Al-Watan called for an Islamic reform movement based on political, economic, social and cultural development.
