20Sep2004 Saudi security forces arrest suspect after shootout

An official source at the Interior Ministry announced that a suspect wanted by Saudi security authorities and three security officials were injured during a shootout between the suspect and security forces. The suspect was arrested following the shootout.

In a statement, the source said that security forces located the suspect, who was listed among Saudi Arabia’s most-wanted, in a building in the city of Tabuk. When approaching the site, security forces were fired upon by the suspect. Three of the men sustained injuries. Security officials then returned fire, and the ensuing shootout resulted in the injury and arrest of the suspect.
