An editorial in Al-Jazeerah newspaper said that the limited amnesty for militants offered by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques expired on Thursday evening. Several militants surrendered to Saudi authorities during the month-long period.
Al-Jazeera pointed out that the amnesty reflected the keenness of the government to provide an opportunity for those who want to repent from their heinous crimes aimed at destabilizing the country.
Okaz newspaper said that, following the expiry of the amnesty offer, all citizens of the Kingdom must unite to clamp down on militancy and militant thought.
