Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard on Monday chaired the Cabinet’s weekly meeting at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, the Minister of Social Affairs and Acting Minister of Culture and Information Dr Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Namlah said that the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on recent talks held by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz and the Crown Prince with Premier Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The talks covered developments in Gulf, Arab, Islamic and international arenas and the means of enhancing aspects of cooperation between the two countries.
The Cabinet welcomed the decision by the International Court of Justice, which stressed the illegality of the racial segregation wall constructed by Israel in the West Bank. The Cabinet urged the international community to force Israel to respect the Court’s decision and other UN resolutions and international law. The Cabinet emphasized the importance of implementing UN Security Council resolutions on the protection of Palestinian human rights.
The Cabinet then reviewed domestic items on its agenda and issued the following decisions:
The Interior Minister or his deputy was authorized to sign a draft agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Poland in the field of combating crime.
The Cabinet endorsed a cooperation agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Jordan in the field of youth and sports.
The Cabinet re-constituted the Board of Directors of the Saudi Industrial Development Fund for three years, effective from 8/6/1425H.
The Minister of Finance or his deputy was authorized to sign a draft agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Czech Republic on the promotion and mutual protection of investments.
The Cabinet approved two fourteenth-grade appointments for Abdulrahman bin Abdul Aziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Hosain as Director General of the Civil Affairs branch in the Eastern Region at the Interior Ministry and Fareed bin Yosif bin Ibrahim Khashogji as Director General of International Representation of Telecommunication and Information Technology at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
