06Jul2004 Crown Prince holds talks with Bahrain’s Premier

Jeddah, 6th July 2004

Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, today held talks at his palace in Jeddah with Bahrain’s Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, who arrived in Jeddah today.

At the outset of the meeting, Al-Khalifa conveyed to Crown Prince Abdullah the greetings of King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Crown Prince Abdullah sent his greetings to the King.

During the meeting, the leaders discussed recent developments in Gulf, Arab, Islamic and international arenas, particularly in Palestine and Iraq. They also discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries and means of enhancing cooperation in all fields.

On the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General; Prince Mit’eb bin Abdul Aziz, the Minister of Rural and Municipal Affairs; Prince Nawaf bin Abdul Aziz, Chief of General Intelligence; Prince Naif bin Abdul Aziz, the Interior Minister; Prince Fawaz bin Abdul Aziz; Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister; Prince Abdulmajeed bin Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Makkah Region; other princes, ministers, and senior civil and military officials.

On the Bahraini side, the meeting was attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al-Khalifa, Deputy Premier who is also the Minister of Islamic Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa, Deputy Premier who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, the Minister of Transportation; Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Province; senior protocol officials; ministers and governors.
