19May2004 Saudi-Turkish Joint Committee concludes eighth session

The Saudi-Turkish Joint Committee on Wednesday concluded the two-day proceedings of its 8th session. The two sides signed the minutes of the session and an agreement organizing the importation of meat and its products from Turkey.

In a speech following the meeting, Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr Hashim Bin Abdullah Yamani said that the Joint Committee called upon experts in the two countries to accelerate implementation of a number of projects to finalise an accord on the avoidance of double taxation and means of promoting investment and tourism cooperation.

The Turkish Minister of Finance Kemal Unakitan stressed that the current volume of bilateral trade does not reflect the immense opportunities and potential within the two countries.
