The First Saudi Gas Forum, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Eastern Region, today concluded its meetings.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and Saudi Aramco participated in the three-day forum, which dealt with new gas agreements, the environment for investment in gas and opportunities for investment in electricity, water desalination, and petrochemicals sectors.
The forum also discussed fostering an appropriate climate to finance energy projects in the Kingdom and the role of energy services in further activating gas, petrochemicals, energy and water desalination sectors.
On the recent gas agreements, Prince Faisal bin Turki, Advisor at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, highlighted in his inaugural speech the features and aims of the Kingdom’s long and short-term strategy in this regard.
Addressing the concluding session, Chairman of the Chamber’s Board Abdulrahman bin Rashid Al-Rashid said that the forum would be held at regular intervals to promote discussions on development of the gas sector and potential commercial opportunities in the Kingdom.
