08May2004 Senior Saudi clerics condemn terrorist acts

The Supreme Council of the Charitable Societies for Memorization of the Holy Quran has condemned the recent acts of terrorism which took place in some parts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, killing and injuring a number of military men and civilians and destroying public and private properties.

The remarks came at a meeting held here on Saturday by the Supreme Council under the chairmanship of Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdul-Aziz Al Al-Sheikh. The Supreme Council called for decisive and firm measures to protect society from such criminal acts. The Supreme Council highlighted the generous support being extended by the Government to the charitable societies for the memorization of the Holy Quran. Al Al-Sheikh underlined the importance of the protection of the youth from deviant ideas and thought.
