Egyptian exports to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia increased by $18 million during the first nine months of 2004.
Cairo-based 'Al-A'lem Al-Yaum' newspaper said contacts were underway between the Kingdom and Egypt to hold a meeting of the joint technical committee within this month of May. The joint committee is scheduled to review issues pertaining to the lifting of the ban imposed on the exports of the Egyptian meat and livestock and fresh potato. The newspaper pointed out that the joint committee will also review the outcome of the meeting of the Saudi and Egyptian trade ministers held last months of December and March.
The two ministers agreed to form a working team which will study the possibility of realizing economic and industrial integration between the Kingdom and Egypt, especially in the field of car manufacturing in cooperation with Morocco and South Africa.
