09Feb2004 Al-Naimi arrives in Algiers for OPEC ministerial conference

Algiers, 9th February 2004

In a statement upon arrival in Algiers today to participate in the meeting of Arab Oil Ministers representing the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi said that OPEC’s ministerial conference will take the appropriate decision regarding the oil production quota of each country for forthcoming months. The OPEC ministerial meeting will take place in Algiers tomorrow.

Al-Naimi indicated that the Kingdom strenuously advocates the $25 per barrel target.

Tomorrow’s meeting will review the situation of the oil market following the Vienna Conference.
