08Feb2004 Land allocated for 40 industrial projects in Dammam industrial city

Riyadh, 8th February 2004

The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr Hashim Yamani, approved the allocation of a number of areas of land at Dammam’s second industrial city to industrial investors. The land, which amounts to a total area of 434,000 square-metres, will be developed by 40 industrial ventures with an estimated capital investment of SR1.535 billion.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Industrial Affairs Saleh Al-Husseini said that 30% of the industrial projects in the industrial city are for chemical and plastic industries, 25% for metal industries, 15% for timber and leather industries, 13% for building materials, 10% for food industries, and 7% for ink industries.

Al-Husseini said that these projects will boost economic growth and generate new job opportunities.
