Grand Mufti speaks against women’s conduct at Jeddah Economic Forum

The Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia issued a statement denouncing the intermingling of men and women and the appearance of unveiled women at the Jeddah Economic Forum, which is banned by the Islamic Shariah. He cited Quranic verses and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to this effect.

The Mufti also condemned the publication by some newspapers of pictures of Saudi women behaving in a manner that does not accord with the teachings of Islam.

The Mufti called upon those responsible for the Jeddah Economic Forum and press reporters to rectify their mistakes.
