Dr Aqeel Al-Ghamdi, the Director of Health Affairs in the Eastern Province, announced the allocation of SR465 million of the Ministry’s current budget for the establishment of new projects, Al-Watan reported.
He announced the approval of 1,356 new jobs, 1,245 of which are medical positions. The new jobs include 249 in Al-Khafji hospital, 249 in Al-Oyoon hospital in Dahran, 125 in Al-Jabr hospital in Ahsa, 249 in the rehabilitation hospital in Ahsa, 249 technical jobs in a hospital in Ahsa, 125 in a psychiatric hospital in Hafr Al-Baten and 110 managerial jobs, Al-Watan reported.
Al-Ghamdi told a press conference that a new psychiatric hospital would be built in Ahsa at a total cost of SR65 million, and SR65 million was allocated to establish 16 new health centres in the Eastern Province. SR22 million will fund development projects, SR12 million of which will be for land development and SR10 million of which will contribute to the development of Dammam medical group.
