Jeddah, 16th January 2004

Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA) is scheduled to transport 93,000 Iranian pilgrims between the Kingdom and nine Iranian cities over a 16-day period, officials said today.

In a statement, the Director General of SAA, Dr Khalid bin Abdullah bin Bakr, said that the scheduled flights accord with an agreement between SAA and the Iranian Ministry of Islamic Guidance and Hajj and Ziarah (visit) Organization. He said that SAA transported 215,000 Iranian Umrah worshippers this year, aboard 702 flights from 12 Iranian cities.

SAA intends to provide the best possible services for pilgrims and Umrah performers, including boarding passes for flights two months in advance of departure, special meals, Hajj publications and photographs and diagrams of Hajj sites, he said.
