The Minister of Water and Electricity and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Electricity Company, Dr Ghazi bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Gosaibi today opened a workshop entitled “Dual-Voltage Power System in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Its Impact,” which is organized by the Riyadh-based Saudi Arabian Organization for Specifications and Standardization.
Dr Al-Gosaibi emphasised the importance of the workshop for highlighting problems, shortcomings and losses linked to the usage of a dual-voltage power system in the Kingdom, to seek positive resolutions, and to create an integrated power voltage system.
The Organization’s Director General, Dr Khaled bin Yusuf Al-Khalaf, said: “The workshop will study several papers delivered by experts and specialists in this field, and will discuss the experience of France in transferring from a 127-220 power voltage system to the internationally accepted 230-400 power voltage system.”
