The Saudi Minister of Education and Chairman of the National Childhood Committee, Dr Mohammed Al-Rasheed, stressed that the future of the Arab nation depends on the attention paid to educating and qualifying the young generation of citizens who will assume authority in the future.
Addressing the Arab Conference on the Rights of Children inaugurated here today, Dr Al-Rasheed, who was elected Vice-President of the Conference, spoke about the Kingdom’s great care accorded to human development, particularly children. He noted that Saudi development plans focus on meeting various needs of children, such as health and social welfare programs.
The Minister of Education highlighted the establishment of the Higher Council for Affairs of the Handicapped, which operates under the chairmanship of Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard.
