The Ministers of Municipalities of member states of the Riyadh-based Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) today concluded their eighth conference in Doha.
Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Prince Mit’eb bin Abdul Aziz led the Saudi delegation to the conference.
Following the meeting, Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Atiyyah, GCC Secretary General, said that the Ministers took a number of decisions to help tackle municipal issues of concern, including sewage disposal, urban pollution, food control and food pollution, provision of municipal investment incentives, ways to levy municipal charges, privatisation projects, establishment of municipal databases, training of national cadres, systems for construction planning and works, and Gulf heritage.
