A Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA) flight arrived at King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah on Tuesday after flying directly from the Japanese City of Osaka.
The Boeing 777 plane was carrying 198 Japanese tourists who have come to the Kingdom as part of the program “Discover the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”, organized by SAA to promote tourism in the country.
Abdullah Al-Juhani, Assistant Director General of SAA for publicity and marketing, said that the Japanese tourists who arrived in the Kingdom are a group of those scheduled to visit the Kingdom for a one to three-week period. The tourists will visit historical sites in Riyadh, Jeddah, Hufouf, Najran, Taif, Abha, Jouf, Tabuk and Hail.
Al-Juhani pointed out that the flight that arrived on Tuesday was the fourth direct flight to be organized by SAA for Japanese tourists. The first direct flight from Japan under the above program was organized in April 2001.
The number of tourists hosted by SAA within the framework of the program, to be implemented between 1996 and 2003, amounts to over 4,000, including Japanese, European and American tourists. Al-Juhani reiterated the keenness of SAA to develop tourism in the country.
