Secretary General of then Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hussein Al-Athel, today opened the French Catalogues Exhibition, in the presence of French Ambassador to the Kingdom, Bernard Poletti.
The two-day exhibition will display catalogues advertising the products of 100 French companies, which will provide Saudi businessmen with ample information on products that they may wish to import from France. The companies participating in the exhibition are looking for local agents and distributors for their products; they also intend to boost their presence in the Saudi market and seek Saudi partners to establish joint ventures.
Al-Athel welcomed the organisation of the exhibition by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “This will offer Saudi businessmen the opportunity to find out about new French products, and serves the two countries’ interests in enhancing commercial, economic and investment ties,” he said.
The French Ambassador said that cooperation between the Kingdom and France in the commercial sector has significantly increased over the past nine months. The volume of trade between the two countries increased to the value of 3.4 billion euros, which included 1.4 billion euros of French exports to the Kingdom and 2 billion euros of Saudi exports to France.
