02Dec2003 Conference on investment opportunities in Kingdom continues in London

London, 2nd December 2003

The conference on investment opportunities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is organized by the Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) in cooperation with the Saudi General Authority for Investment, continued its meetings in London today.

Addressing the conference, the Vice-President of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), Abdullah Al-Njaidi, said that SABIC is among the largest 30 companies for producing chemicals, and ranks fourth in Ethylene production, worldwide.

The President of Saudi Modern Technology Company, Abdul Aziz Al-Saghir, spoke on the successful implementation of the policy of Saudization in the Kingdom, noting that 60% of the Kingdom’s population is under the age of 20.

Today’s session was chaired by the former British Ambassador to the Kingdom and Advisor at Britain’s Ministry of Defence, Sir Alan Munro, who reviewed cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Britain in economic offset projects within the framework of the Al-Yamamah defence agreement. Presidents of various international companies also addressed the conference.
